The whole canvas is yellow because I wanted it yellow. There is no reason beyond that and I am not going to invent one.
Third of four canvases of the same woman, and in three of them her mouth is open. I did not choose that either. It is simply what she does, and painting her four times is how I found out.
Days at a time over several weeks, then nothing, then more days.
It stopped when I was done.
